 What happens when you smash country, rock and classic pop together? You get the kind of explosive chemistry that's shooting J.J. & The Foreign Cowboys on to the New York music scene.
This refreshing, untamable 6-piece band is bringing finely honed song writing skills to a combustible stage show that has fans dancing on the bar and singing along with their favorite songs.
Fronting the band, singer/songwriter Jennifer Johnsen commands the stage and lead vocals with  passionate energy. Hailing from Massachusetts, J.J. moved to New York for an advertising career, which quickly became disillusioning. She quit the corporate world to focus full-time on music and soon after, teamed up with keyboard player, Jørgen Kjær.
Jørgen, a native of Denmark and an alum of its prestigious Royal Danish Conservatory, completes the song writing duo, arriving in New York by way of Boston's Berklee College of Music, where he garnered numerous song writing awards.
JJ & The Foreign Cowboys began performing in 1998 with a weekend residency at The Gold Rush in Hell's Kitchen covering a mix of contemporary pop-country tunes. The backing band consisted of musicians from Finland, England and Denmark-hence the name 'Foreign Cowboys'. The band played the 10th avenue country bar for two years eventually working much of their original material into the set list.
By 2000, the band was headlining clubs like Hogs & Heifers, The Cowboy Bar, and The Bitter End. They produced their first self-titled CD, and continued to write and play in New York City.
 The band took another residency in 2002/2003, just two blocks from world famous CBGB's nightclub at Fuel at Phebe's on the Bowery. By 2004/2005 JJ & The Foreign Cowboys were promoting themselves on college and public radio and headlining clubs in the New York tri- state area. At the same time, they signed a distribution deal with PC Treasures in Oxford, Michigan.
To date JJ & The Foreign Cowboys has sold over 36,000 copies of their latest album Be the Wild in Me.

Mickey Kennedy was born and raised on a cattle and tobacco farm in Clarksville Tennessee, just north of Nashville. He comes from a very musical family including country music legend Kitty Wells. From the early age of 9, Mickey began his singing career. He further pursued his musical interests at The University of Tennessee and then Austin Peay University before ultimately making a permanent move to Nashville Tennessee. Music Square Productions signed Mickey to a development deal that put him on internationally syndicated radio show “Live at Libby’s” as well as frequent performances at several famous Nashville venues including The Wildhorse Saloon, Tootsies, and Opryland. Mickey brings his incredible voice, energetic stage presence, and passion as a performer to this popular and well established band with Chris Tedesco. 
Born and raised in Endwell, NY, Chris has performed as a professional musician for 11 years. Just prior to the formation of The Ranchhands, he was the on-stage fiddle player for a 15 month 40 city national broadway tour of "The Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" starring Ann-Margret. Recording credits include TV commercials for AT&T, FOX Networks, and the 2000 Olympics. Performance credits include Annie Golden, The Shirts, VH-1's Midnight Minute, and The Independent Film Awards. Chris has also shared the stage with several noted performers including Randy Travis, Alan Jackson, Keith Urban, The Doobie Brothers, Anne Murray, Blue Rodeo, and Steve Wariner. As bandleader and music director of The Ranchhands, Chris is committed to putting his talent and experience to work to gain continued critical acclaim and worldwide exposure for The Ranchhands.
